Crate Late Model Rules

General Chassis Rule


All parts and components must be stock Traxxas Slash 2wd short course truck unless mentioned below.


NO WEIGHT MAY BE ADDED TO THE BODY OR CHASSIS


Body

  • Current style, Super Late Model style body from any manufacture allowed

  • Realistic roll cage allowed

  • Driver head allowed

  • Stock Traxxas Slash front and rear body mounts may be used

  • Additional body mount post may be installed on the chassis on each side


Bumpers

  • Stock front bumper may be used installed upside down

  • Stock Traxxas front bumper may be modified, trimmed or cut

  • Traxxas front bumper #TRA2735 may be used installed upside down

  • Traxxas rear bumper allowed

  • RPM rear bumper allowed

  • Rear bumper may be cut down

  • RPM front bumper allowed

  • Foam/rubber may be used on front bumper to support body

  • Traxxas side bumpers may or may not be used


Chassis Components

  • HCG or LCG chassis allowed (High center gravity or low center gravity)

  • No modifications to the chassis or transmission case

  • Must remain stock, no cutting or drilling of parts

  • Must have Stock Traxxas Slash Parts unless mentioned in rules

  • A-arms must be mounted in correct locations, no flopping

  • Right A-arms must be mounted on the right and Left on the left side

  • No RPM or aftermarket parts allowed. RPM rear bumper may be used


Steering Components

  • Must be stock bellcrank set found on kit or RTR

  • Traxxas TRA6845X Bellcrank kit will be allowed

  • No aluminum parts


Electronics Mounting Locations

  • May be mounted anywhere on top of the chassis

  • No additional holes may be drilled

  • No additional mounting plates allowed

  • 2 sided tape allowed to mount electronics


Suspension

  • TRAXXAS 2WD plastic shocks only (grey or black version) (fronts in front, rears in rear)

  • Original Rear (TRAXXAS 5858) and Front springs (TRAXXAS 5857)

  • Front springs may be cut in order to shorten them (no more than 5 round removed on ONE end)

  • The shock’s travel may be shortened with internal shims (ie.. fuel tube or solid shims...)

  • Original shafts in original cylinder (length and type in proper cylinder)

  • Original pistons from kit only (original 1, 2 or 3 hole), no modifications can be made to them

  • No front bump stop suspension, a single original blue bump stop can be used per rear shock (not mandatory)

  • No shimming allowed (to reduce slop in suspension parts)

  • All suspension parts (such as A-Arms) must remain in original positions and orientation it was designed for


Motor & ESC

  • VX3 motor and ESC permitted OR Hobby Wing Just Stock 10.5 motor and ESC combo

  • Hobby Wing XR10 Justock G3 ESC & 10.5T Justock G2.1 Sensored Brushless Motor

  • 1 30mm fan allowed


Transmission

Traxxas 272 transmission with stock gears and pinion permitted. Aftermarket bearings allowed. Can be teched.



Slipper Clutch

  • Stock slipper clutch and components must be used


Radio & Receiver

  • Any


Servo

  • Stock Servo 2075

  • Stock servo 2057

  • SAVOX SC-0252MG Digital Servo is allowed

  • Aluminum Servo horn allowed


Battery

  • 2-cell 7.4v LiPo battery with a maximum of 5200mah and 50c, with external plug only (no “bullet type” connector) (8.44 Volts MAX)

  • Stock battery brace must be used

  • No cutting or modifying the battery brace


Rims

  • Any 2.2/3.0 rims allowed


Wheel Spacers (Hexes)

  • Grey or black may be used on the front or back


Gearing

  • Traxxas 32/48 pitch gears allowed

  • Any Pinion Size



Tires

  • Stock Traxxas Slash Kumho, Spec, Bf Goodrich

  • S1 Compound allowed

  • Proline Hoosier tires 2.2/3.0 m3 or m4 compound allowed

  • Track choice tire: DE G6T Grooved - any compound

  • Tire surface must show “thread Pattern” (NO Slick Tires)
